Want to get into trades and don't know where to start?

In this workshop, facilitated by HIEC-Apprentice Search, participants will learn about the various fields of skilled trades in Canada and Ontario, as well as the pathways to pursue a career in the trades. The session will provide an in-depth look at the steps involved in securing apprenticeships and include a demonstration on how to use Apprentice Search to find trade opportunities and jobs. If you are in high school, this presentation will also cover how students can prepare to enter the trades.

HIEC-Apprentice Search is a non-profit social enterprise focused on partnership, mentorship, and workforce development. For nearly 30 years, HIEC has been connecting educators, employers, and students to build a stronger future workforce. They run programs like the Career Awareness Program, offer experiential learning opportunities, host community events, and manage online communities dedicated to workforce development.
