Facilitated by Elections Canada, participants will learn the insight into the rich history of Chinese Canadians, a deep dive into their dedication to civic engagement and inspiring stories of dedication to Canada’s democracy.

Presenter's bio:

Melissa Chan is Elections Canada's Markham Education Coordinator. She is also an Ontario-certified teacher and is passionate about empowering minority groups and fostering community engagement. Recognized with awards for her volunteerism, including the Ontario Volunteer Service Award, Melissa is a Director in Ontario History and Social Studies Teachers’ Association.
